創設者飛鳥大五郎は、16才より日本舞踊の世界で鍛錬を重ねた古典芸能の修行者である。24才より本格的に和太鼓に取り組み、その豪放磊落な大太鼓の打法と共に、多彩な音色と、歌舞伎、能、狂言などの優美な伝統舞踊を融合した独自の舞台表現が国内外で高い評価を得ている。
1990年「舞太鼓あすか組」を創設、デビュー公演「月に鼓舞る」で
和太鼓の世界に一大センセーションを巻き起こした。
年間150回を超える公演実績は「信頼の証」。

Rich visuals are the “essence” of ASKA Japanese Drum
Aska Daigoro, founder of ASKA Japanese Drum, is a scholar of classical Japanese performing arts who has been trained in the world of Japanese dance since the age of 16. 24 years old, he began playing taiko in earnest, and has since won acclaim both in Japan and abroad for his bold and open drumming techniques, diverse sound, and unique stage expression that combines the graceful traditional dance forms of kabuki, noh, and kyogen. In 1990, he formed the ASKA Japanese Drum group and created a sensation in the taiko world with his first performance, “Tsuki nni Koburu” (Moon Drum Dance). They have performed on every stage from concerts to international competitions and dinner shows. We hope you will enjoy their world-class “full-bodied harmony.
